Organise a Holi event

HOW TO ORGANISE YOUR HOLI FESTIVAL?

Just like the festivals that offer a Holi celebration, it is best held outdoors.

Give 1 sachet of powder per participant, and set up a stand so that participants who want more sachets can get them easily.

Grab the microphone, count down 3, 2, 1... 0, and all the participants throw their sachet of Holi powder into the air. The effect is magical and participants will remember it for a long time!

As the organiser, you can also use Holi powder cannons, and even Color Blasters to project a huge cloud of Holi powder over the participants.

Ask participants to dress in white — it's the best way to make the colours stand out.

HOW TO ORGANISE YOUR COLOUR RUN?

Whether to create a festive or sporting event, or for a fundraiser, colour runs are always a success. They attract a crowd of all ages. Organising your own colour run isn't complicated at all — here are a few tips to get it right.

WHAT TO WEAR

Basically trainers, shorts and a white T-shirt so the colours show up well. Don't wear your favourite clothes that day — they'll end up covered in colour! Fancy dress is always welcome, and sunglasses are recommended.

THE ROUTE

Depending on your expected audience and how fit your participants are, choose a 3, 5 or 10 km route. To surprise your participants, take them through a forest, along a river, over a bridge… While some will see it as a sporting challenge, many see colour runs as a great excuse for a walk. So pick a striking route that will delight the walkers too!

THE GATES

Along your route, place gates at regular intervals, ideally every km. A gate can be a bridge, a gateway, a narrow passage… At each gate, station your staff with buckets of holi powder in 1 colour. One colour per gate. As the runners go past, the staff shower them with coloured powder using a small scoop. The runners are therefore coloured a different shade at each gate, and finish the race with their t-shirt covered in colour!

THE FINISH LINE

The finish line is usually accompanied by music. You can celebrate the runners' arrival with holi powder cannons. Guaranteed effect!

When your runners reach the finish, give each of them 1 sachet of coloured powder. Ask the DJ or host to run a countdown: 3, 2, 1 and everyone throws the contents of their sachet of coloured powder into the air, all at once, to create the Holi Time! Remember to capture this unique moment with photos.

CLEANING UP

Color People powder washes off easily with water. You can also lay budget carpet (£1.50 per m²) at each gate where the powder is thrown, to make cleaning up easier.

In any case, Color People powder has been used at numerous races out in nature, including on the beach, without causing the slightest damage to the environment. So you can route your run anywhere, without worry.

You'll find ready-made race packs here, to make your calculations easier and above all at economical prices.

HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU ORDER?

Generally, allow 50 g of powder per runner, per colour gate + 1 sachet per runner at the finish.

WHAT TO PROVIDE:
